Assessments

Sweetwater County School District #2 administers formative and summative assessments to measure student progress and mastery of learning objectives. This includes designing valid and reliable assessments that provide valuable insights into student learning. A comprehensive assessment system allows students to demonstrate their understanding in a variety of ways and reflects the breadth and depth of the state's priority content standards. Sweetwater County School District #2's comprehensive assessment system aims to be coherent as it promotes deeper and more meaningful learning for students and is compatible with the underlying model of learning. Our goal is for this system to be continuous as it documents student progress over time. It is most efficient when no individual assessment is redundant and all are used to make educational decisions. Lastly, Sweetwater County School District #2's comprehensive assessment system is designed to be purposeful as it provides the necessary information for its teachers and administrators to respond to student learning.

Wyoming’s assessment system measures students’ progress toward the Wyoming Content and Performance Standards. It is used to enhance teaching and learning, support school improvement, and provide data for accountability ensuring the effectiveness of schools, programs, and staff.
