Also during the Green River City Council meeting last night they recognized our School Board Members for their dedication and service to SWCSD#2 for Wyoming's School Board Appreciation Week (February 23–27). Our School Board members work tirelessly behind the scenes to support our students, staff, and schools, making decisions that shape the future of our district and community. Thank you for your leadership, commitment, and continued advocacy for education—we truly appreciate all that you do!

At the Green River City Council meeting last night our School Resource Officers were recognized for their dedication and service to our district in honor of National School Resource Officer (SRO) Day, which is celebrated on February 15th. Our SRO Officers play a vital role in maintaining safe, supportive school environments while building positive relationships with students, staff, and families. We are grateful for their daily commitment, leadership, and partnership, and we thank them for the many ways they go above and beyond to support our schools and community.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday break. As we go into 2026, we’re proud to share the incredible generosity of our Monroe Elementary Student Council. During the break, these students raised over $520 by working the concession stand for every game but 1 at Monroe, during the Flaming Gorge Classic. Donations included 18 blankets for The Mission at Castle Rock and dog/cat food, supplies, and 9 beds for the Red Desert Humane Society. What a great way to start the new year—by giving back! Good Job Monroe Student Council you guys rock!!!!

It’s always a magical day when our Nutrition Services Department dresses up—but today, oh today, they outdid themselves! With a costume greener than green and a hairdo taller than you’ve ever seen, they popped into each school serving their Holiday Meals Spreading cheer, laughs, and all kinds of feel-good appeal! A cheer and a clap for the Nutrition crew—We thank you, we thank you, oh yes, we sure do!
